I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding and we have to have matching (EXPENSIVE) shoes that we have to pay for. I am a size 8 in Australian ladies shoes, but the 38 in the heels is extremely tight. I would just try on the next size, but unfortunately we are getting them interstate so they need to be sent over. They have a 39, but I am worried it will still be too small. An online conversion site I found says that it should be a size 40? Does anyone know??
The original shoes were a 36, counldn't even get my foot into them. They sales lady in the shop says that a 36 is a size 8. But there is no way that is right.

found this pretty cool web link for you. I would probably recommend going with the 39 if the 38 is too tight. It appears australia and US use same sizes. I am an 8 1/2 or 9 and generally always get 39 or 40 from brands like Dansko that only come in Europeon sizes.

Good luck!

I'm not sure because some manufacturers make different sizes. You could probably go with the international shoe size conversion chart, it says size 38 is Australian size 6. Size 8 Australian is size 42 Euro.
