I purchased a used but practically new PC with a DVD drive, it will play CDs but will do nothing with DVDs when I attempt to open DVD file in windows media player or any ather media player I have downloaded it tells me to insert a DVD disc.

it could be that u don't have dvd video on the cpu or u don't have the program

yes like the second guy that answered, the dvd player is broken


if you just bought the pc, u have the right to bring the pc back to have it replaced because its not working but dont say you broke it or say theres a flaw, just say its not working.

It's broken. Take it to a shop and have it fixed, or buy a new DVD drive.

simple, its broken, you need a new one :( get a burner dvd for like 40 bucks brand new..
