Can you help me come up with a new look?

Question

I cut my hair short a little while ago, and I know there's nothing to do but let it grow out, but I'm not liking the style right now. I put in those highlights a couple weeks ago and I like those.
I like to surf and write songs and sing. I'm turning 23 next month, and I want to get out more since I've been a hermit for like a year now, and I feel like if I spiced up my look a bit I'd be more excited about getting out. I'd also like to start playing my songs in public and I'm very self concious about it.

I'd like any suggestions you have. Makeup, hair, whatever. Since I surf I need to look good without makeup still. That's my only requirement, but I like wearing makeup most of the time.

for a new look? how about eyeliner & mascara [blackest black]. i know that the makeup artists say black works for everyone but blones, but who cares. i know the black eyes seems classic & old, but you can go overboard and apply heaps of eyeliner, make smoky eyes, blah blah blah. it looks real awesome. it really draws attention to your eyes, and i think it'd look amazing on you.

and yea, you're right. just gotta wait for the hair to grow if you want it to grow. try different stuff like curling it, straightening its perfectly straight [no flicking bits], and hair gel - make surf hair.

ANyways, Im digging the eyes, they're huge, I suggest wearing mascara and bright colour eyeshadow. Maybe gold, bright baby blue or something. Basically just make your eyes pop because that is your best feature. your lips I would go nude pink if you're gonna play up the eyes. but a totally wacky colour like bright red, or burgandy (or any dark colour) if you're playing the eyes down. You've got amazing cheek bones, use some cheek highlighter stuff, add a little glimmer to the area, and wear golden/bronze cheek color, maybe even a little pink, but not too pink you'd look like a tomatoe.Hair on the other hand, I want you to try a different part. I like it, but it's too much hair covering your face. (you're not hiding behind it are you?) Maybe flip the ends out especially the front swoop hair. I donno what your highlights look like but I would get a colour that is light, noticable and girly (since you're an artist) Or do the total opposite and have your hair darker than its natural colour, and wear most of it back with the same side part....Is your hair naturally curly, if so then don't straighten it often because I think you have the face to totally play up pretty little curls.

Ok here's my suggestions: glossy lips in a light colour, bronzing powder across your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose, and a bit of brown eyeliner, not to heavy. It will pop out the blue. Your bangs are a little too heavy. Try parting your hair more in the middle and pushing them to the side with gel, maybe scrunch your hair for some texture. It looks cute but longer hair will suit you better.

Here's make-up ideas for diff colored skin tones

Fair skin colored? Lip: Pink, Raspberry, Rose
Eyes: Light grey, pink

Medium Fair skin? Lips: Caramel, Peach/pink, Light Brownish-red
Eyes: Gold, Apricot, Ivory


Freckle Faced? Lip: Caramel, Brownish-pink, Brownish-red Eyes: Brown, Champagne, Plum

Olive Skin Toned? Lip: Raisin, Chocolate, Brick
Eyes: Browns, Golds

Dark Skin Toned? Lip: Brick Red, Chocolate, Dark Caramel Eyes: Purple, Gold, Shimmery Brown

Golden and Tanned? Lip: Plum, Berry, Classic Red
Eyes: Lilac, Gold, Champagne

it's always fun to use bronze colors for eyemakeup and blush, it still looks natural but makes you glow.

covergirl Lash Exact is the best mascara if you want you define your lashes but don't want them to stand out too much. if you want to go bold use volume exact, it's awsome for going out.

almay eyeliner is the best eyeliner I've used, it has a nifty little sharpener on the bottom so you can sharpen it to a very fine point to better controle how thin or how thick you want it, they also have eyeshadow to brighten up different eye colors and if you put the lighest color on your lid it's great for casual and if you put the darker color on you lid it's great for going out.

a light pink shade of lip gloss always brightens up a face. a darker pink for the sexy look. or clear for just a polished look.

I think your hair would look adorable if you flipped it out, and then got some hair wax(comes in a spray or pomade type) to define the tips. I use john frieda's sheer blondefine-mist wax spray, it's awesome. you could pull your bangs and some of your hair back and clip it and maybe even make it poof up the part you pulled up a little.

This might sound like the obvious but if you really must get the answer i suggest heading to the hair salon, im no hairstylist and trust me your hair will look better than it is now. By the way it doesnt lool bad :)

Try wearing your hair witha little more volume.Use a spot
volume hairspray and wear natural earth tones on your makeup.

Maybe color the ends of your hair like a wierd outgoing color. Buy differnet color eyeliners like blue green...nothing super bold though.
