Liberia was founded by African Americans and has a history of reverse emmigration, should be an interesting place to spend some time.

Southern Africa... probably south Africa because there's a lot more to do or else Botswana or Namibia.... I'm African and I don't think I've really ever come across african people who flat out just don't like African Americans, i think they just don't like a lot of the stereotypes and perceptions made about them..... But then again everywhere in the world some people do suffer from xenophobia

Ghana is really friendly towards African-Americans. However, you must be careful because I know from personal experience that if they figure out your nationality, some people will try to take advantage of that. Whatever you do, don't give out any personal information such as your email address or home address or phone number.....in any country in Africa. I lived in Africa for 8 years, growing up there, and I have learned the hard way that if you give out information like that, it can come back to haunt you. I love the people, but it's something you must be aware of. If you give out information like that, you can expect beg letters for money, or sob letters, etc.

Ghana would be the best as far as safety and language goes. If you speak french or portuguese a few other countries may be interesting. I lived in Nigeria for 3 1/2 years, but unless you have a specific reason to go to that country I wouldn't reccomend it due to safety concerns.

most love americans. but dont call yourself african-american. most of them dont like it. alot consider it an insult. ive been to sierra leone, ivory coast, guinea, togo, and going to ghana soon. the only one that there were any problems in was ivory coast and it was not toward americans. good luck and enjoy.

Senegal. I visited a few years ago and found them to be very friendly towards Americans (blacks).

They are also very entrepreneurial and seemed to welcome partnerships with us.

Check out business venture via their embassy in the US and perhaps they can put you in touch with locals who can at least assist you in getting around.

Good luck on your trip and your future endeavors.

Right now that country is in the midst of civil war and unrest. I wouldn't want to be in any part of that country right now, not until it is over with.
