Hi, ken88dors. In the modern age, we cannot distinguish the people of any country as one group of people because of various historical reasons, geosocial factors and intercultural relationships. There may be very few countries which were out of gegraphical explorations and trade relationships. As far as India is considered, in the history of the world perhaps no other country had been subjected to a variety of domestic rulers and foreign agressors. So it is futile to expect Indians as one group of people when they came under the influence of different religions, different languages, different cultures and different traditions that were completely heterogeneous in nature. Though we hate English rulers, we still love their language, English. We could get independence only through English, a powerful vehicle of our emotional and reasonable expressions. We are grateful to English language and that is why still we consider that language as our own. A foreigner can easily find out the heterogeneousness of Indians but if he calmly observes their cultural and traditional practices, he can realise the homogeneousness firmly blended with. Only thing is that the critic should have no preoccupied notions.

I believe that the indian person right now is probably mixed, even though we all look very distinctive, but if we're talking about (india indian, not american indian) I think we might be mixed considering ancient wars and stuff that happened over there.... can't really give you details but I don't believe that there's a single sould on earth right now that is a pure race which didn't get mixed at all!

very much a heterogenous mix
India is home to different religions
different languages
different ethnicities
different castes
different classes
cultural diversity is a good thing, but I wish that in terms of socioeconomic status there was more equality. it seems that today, the rich are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer.

it depends on what type of indians you are talking about. the indians here in america were the first people to live an america before the europeans came. then when slavery happened, many mixed with the slaves and even the europeans. thats why indians and spanish makes mexicans, spanish and african and indians makes puerto ricans, dominicans, etc. but before all the mixing indians were just one race.

Well, if you look far back into history, we're all born from Africa. The asian race came out first, and the black African-Americans came out last. So, they are most likely one group of people that came out and developed, not a mixture as far as I'm concerned.
