It doesent matter what brand of cold air intake you use. Either way you are wasting your money, don't you have anything better to spend your money on, or maybe save it in the bank. Must be great living with your parents. LOL

I know you want more horse power in your 1999 Cavalier but whats the big difference between 115 HP before and 118HP after?

It doesn't really matter. All are about equally useless. The horsepower gains from one of these things - if any - are always wildly exaggerated and if they do exist, it is usually in a narrow part of the rev band high up where you will rarely ever use it. On the low end however where you spend most of you time you could actually lose power!

It really is hard to fathom how some mom and pop operation bending aluminum tube in the garage can out-engineer a major car manufactuer with a billion-dollar R&D budget and more engineering degrees than you can count.

If you are looking for an aftermarket air intake go with aem. There filter is the best. Its what i have in my car. 5 more horsepower is a big deal if you like to go fast!! Why? Cold air intake cools your engine faster = little more speed! If you want to spend the cash then do it. Ebay air takes dont last as long. It is also said that you save gas, im not sure if that is true. but i have heard that.

We had to purchase a new unit several years ago and were in a financial bind. The company who had been doing our maintenance, et cetera, told us that all units basically had the same operating parts and the generic brand and name brand were alike except for the cover. AND, the generic is a lot cheaper. By the way, it's over 10 years old and so far, so good. The brand has nothing to do with what kind of air you will get.
