It has to be Stockton and Malone. Not even Jordan and Pippen complemented one another the way those 2 guys did. Although Pippen was a very good player and an excellent defender, his offensive ability was nowhere near that of Jordan.
With Stockton and Malone, you have the best at what they did performing their specific job: the all-time leader in assists giving the ball to the man 2nd in career points. I'd say that's a pretty lethal combo.
Stockton and Malone ran the pick and roll to perfection for 16-17 years and still no one could stop them. Shaq and Kobe played together for a much less length of time and did not work as well together as these 2 men. They just argued with each other and Phil Jackson constantly. Stockton and Malone knew how to incorporate their partnership into the TEAM, something you just don't see today.

Yea that is a tough question because their was a lot of great duos in history. The best one in my oponion was definetly michael jordan and scottie pippen. Them to were like cheese on a pizza they played amazing together. That's why the bulls have one of the greatest dynasty's ever. They won 6 championships with micahel jordan and scottie pippen. They both could score so quickly and play substantial defense. If I had to pick next it would be kobe and shaq because yea stockton and malone were good but they never one any championships and kobe and shaq won three.

I think each generation or decade seems to have a choice for the time. MJ & Pippen? Stockton & Malone? Bird- Mchale? Magic-Kareem? Robinson-Duncan? When you ask for the greatest, then I think of the following requirements - championships and impact on the game, and that would be Russell and Cousy ... the Cletics were a dynasty and they won 5 Championships playing together .. 4 straight - '59-62 ... both set the gold bar standards for players at their positon to reach.

Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor were awesome with the Lakers. Also, Michael Jordan and Pippen rate up there because of the titles they won. Third choice would be Kareem and Magic Johnson. It's like they could read each others' minds. Smooth as silk. All of these guys were winners, that's the main thing.

Being a Laker fan and all I truely hate to say this. I think it was the mailman Karl Malone and John Stockton. Stocton the all time assist leader and Malone I believe is in the top five in scoring. No championships though... :)

Tim Duncan and David Robinson. Can you imagine the scoring, rebounding, and shotblocking presence when they are on the floor
Duncan has a career average of 22
Rebounding: David Robinson has a career average of 10.6 rebound per game, Tim Duncan averages 11.9
Shotblocking: Robinson averges 2.99 block per game in his career, Duncan averages 2.4.
In fact during tha 91-92 season, Robinson avergaed 4.49 blocks per game! And in different years he has also averaged 29.8 points per game and 13 rebounds per game! Definitely a complete player
This duo will give you 40+ points, 20+ rebounds, 5+ blocks, a couple of assists, steals and a whole lot of leadership every night
