Use the clothes that you have and layer the kids in them. Lots of shirts and sweaters and sweatpants. A couple of pairs of socks too. You might think about sleeping in the same bed as 4 people generate a lot more heat than just one alone.

Good luck to you.

It is the winter months, so i dont think the power companies can legally leave you with out power, heat. well actually heat. But im not reall ysure what you can do, is there somebody's house that you can go to. If you have to, put the space heater in the smallest bedroom in the house and keep the door shut and put blankets or whatever over the windom and around the door to keep all the heat in. Thats all i can really think of. See if you can get some more space heaters from some body else, neighbors or friends or somebody. That would be my best guess, atleast you only have to deal with it for 3 days.

heater in one room and sleep all in the one room. put up a blanket or such over any openings to help keep the cold out. This is about all you can do. May do this in the living room where the other rooms can all be closed off. If a couple of the kids can get along to sleep under the same cover it would be warmer also.

Fix everyone a nice cup of hot coca. I would then layer their clothing. Lots of sweaters, sweat pants, socks, and even wear hats since most of our heat is lost through our head. All of you crawl under as many blankets you have! IF you have an electric blanket that would be great! Bundle up and bundle together for a good night's sleep. Be careful with that space heater!

shello,
well since you only have 3 days then why don't you stay stay family or friends house...the children don't need to go through that and besides the child well fare can take them from you if they find out......and why won't he pay it???you are taking care of his kids????and also you were a stay at home mom for him and now he don't want too contribute to the life that he told you that you can have....well bull hockey honey if it was me i would drain him for every dime he had for making me and his children stay in the cold for a few days and whats wrong with him putting you in a hotel for a few nights just too keep warm?????there are warming shelters out there but you have too look in your area or them.....i am so sorry that he did this to you and it infuriates me to see men like this not taking care of their women....and they wonder how they got here....by a woman and i tell my men that every day and make them respect me every day ....it is their obligation from the beginning of time to make sure bills are paid and he failed as a man....and i would tell him that....i wish you the best of luck

if you're moving in three days just tough it out. turn up the small space heater and make a game with your kids like all camping out in the living room or something.

unless of course you're desperate enough to want to go to some kind of shelter.

Depending upon what state you are in you may qualify for some assistance. No guarantee of that but well worth looking into.
You are more likely able to get help because of your children than for yourself.

As a start go to the following web site. It may help or at least give you ideas about what you can do.

Is there anything valuable in your house that you can pawn? You could probably find a job easily as a shift leader at some Wawa.

That's the best I can suggest. Best of luck. I'm sure the other yahoo users will have better answers.

You guys should go to a shelter there's no reason you guys should have to freeze think about your kids first and get going. If not a shelter get lots and lots of quilts and sheets and bundle up.
