This is "The Jets' Song" from "West Side Story", which was a fine Broadway play before it was made into a hit movie, c. 1961. We had the album of the stage show with tenor Larry Kert and Tony and Carol Lawrence as Maria and we played it all the time in the early 1960s at college.
