You are probably talking about the avatars.You just go to your yahoo account and edit and make an avatar.

It's your yahoo aviator click on the blank face by your name and it will take you there. It's also under the messenger tab on yahoo Im then go to my display image

They are called "avatars" and You will find then by going back to Yahoo mail and following the instructions.

If you open your messenger go to the first menu called ' messenger' and click 'my display image' there it will say 'share an avatar' or it might say 'create an avatar' -- it will take you to a website to customize your avatar.

Either to use ur pic or use ur avatar. If u want to use ur avatar. Visit http://avatar.yahoo.com Make ur avatar there and save it. Or u bring the icon of avatar on ur yahoo toolbar. To do so cilck the pencil, select personal options, select add edit button and check the box of avatar and then click finished. It will bring the icon of avatar on ur yahoo toolbar which can be used by u anytime as per ur convenience.
Secondly, to use a pic, u need to hv 360 page. Visit http://360.yahoo.com to create ur 360 page and upload ur photo there. Make sure that u set ur photo to be primary photo which u want to use on yahoo answers. After doing these things, come back on ur yahoo answers profile. Here u click edit info and then click either the circle of using ur pic or the circle of using ur avatar. Now click the preview and save. It will solve ur problem.
