You know, the ones who don't fall under legally "handicapped"?

Just asking.

Hmm. If a senior is that frail, they'll PROBABLY have a handicapped sticker. Otherwise, I think people need to be judicious in the use of the "new and expectant" parking.

I used it only a couple of times. One was when I was loading 80 pound bookcases into my car when I was 8 months pregnant (I found it hard to keep still). I figured I could justify that one. I didn't really need it otherwise while I was pregnant. I also used it when my baby was a few days old and I was still a bit sore "down there".

I could see using it more often if you were on modified bedrest, or if you'd had a c-section or something, though. Which is why I didn't use the spaces more than a couple of times; I figured someone else was probably more pregnant, or had a younger baby, or needed it more than I did. Pregnancy isn't an illness or an injury, UNLESS there are complications. It's a nice gesture to have the spaces, but, I don't think people should use them if they don't have a good reason for them. But, if it's good for business, stores will do it.

The funniest thing I ever saw was at Ft. Bragg (my husband's in the Army). They had "Stork Parking" (as they call it)...directly outside the liquor store!!

No. I don't. Because if it weren't you parking there, it would likely be someone with no physical limitation who us just as young and non-frail as you are.

The spaces are meant to make it easier for new parents trying to juggle shopping and getting a newborn into the store. Also in the last weeks of pregnancy, walking across a huge parking lot may deter some pregnant moms from shopping at the store.

So when they have those spaces, they will get more business.

Again, if it's not you parking there, it will be likely taken by a 20 year old guy who could run from the back of the lot in the time it would take you to walk from the close space.

don't feel bad, just don't abuse it. I've seen moms with 2-year-olds in those spaces. Sorry, but that's not "new moms" and that's certainly not "infant".

Not at all, that I know of there is only 1 store that offers New & expectant mommies parking. And I really don't believe there is an overwhelming amount of frail seniors in the store at any given moment, besides they are not your responsibility. Let the families worry about them. When I shop with my Grandmother we either drop her off at the door, or find close parking.

Not on your life! By the time you get the stroller out of the trunk, find the latchy thing to assemble the stroller, make sure that it is really locked, stop it from rolling away, undo the baby seat from the base, put the baby on the stroller, get your two year old out of her seat, put her in the stroller, after giving her a baby wipe bath because she has found a marker in the backseat and given herself a "new look", get into the store and realize that you forgot the diaper bag, then YOU WILL BE A FRAIL SENIOR!! :-) Now what did we need at this store anyway?

even as male and woman reproductive cells are fused jointly the toddler is a zygote. After the degree of being a zygote the toddler will grow to be an embryo. The embryo will grow to be a fetus. I first heard the time period zygote even as i become in 4th or fifth grade for the duration of well being classification. I basically remembered the time period and that i presumed i might want to percentage the options. i think life starts at theory and that i'm professional life.

Who's to say they need it more? Who's to say new and expecting mothers need it more? Who's to say 1/2 those people with handicap stickers can't walk father than they do?

No I don't feel bad. As a woman who was on bed rest for a while-it came in handy. As a mom with 2 small children, it comes in handy.

I don't think someone 8 weeks pregnant should use it, nor should a mom of a 8 month old. But for very pregnant woman or newborn babies--I tink it's fine!

I have only seen one store: Babies R Us that has those, and they only have 1 or 2 outside their doors. They are right next to the handicap parking. A lot of Seniors are too proud to get the handicap placards. My dad had to be practically forced to get one and he rarely uses it.

Thats why there are thousands of disabled parking everywhere. There are very few pregnant woman parking spaces or Family parking spaces, so when there are and if you are pregnant or with kids, then you have every right to use it without feeling bad. What gets me is when some guy with no kids decides to park in a family parking or a pregnant woman parking space, now that ticks me off!

Ummm where I live you get a handicapped sticker basically if you ask for it, so no I don't feel bad.

Also I don't park there as I prefer to walk, however if I needed it I would use it.
