Prices are pretty much the same everywhere.

But what you can do is get the education/student discount from Apple whether you're a student or not.
1) If you're a college student, it's easy, go into any Apple Store and show your student ID, I think they take off 10% (basically you're getting tax back)
2) If you're NOT a student OR if you're not near any Apple store, go to Apple.com > Click on the "Store" tab > in the right column you'll see under More Stores "Education, Savings for students, faculty and staff" > Click on that > Click on "college/university student" > if you're in college choose your school, if not, choose some random school > it'll do a confirmation...after you confirm, it'll return you to the store and you'll see that a lot of the prices on the page have been discounted.

It worked when I bought my Nano about a year ago when Nanos FIRST came out. At the time I just used my college ID at the Apple Store to get a discount on my Nano. I know for a fact the online thing still works for Macs and Powerbooks...I hope it still works for iPods.

Hope this helps.

my daughter loved my son's ipod so for christmas i bought her a sandisk brand player for $69 that seems almost identical to my son's $199 ipod and works perfectly.i bought hers at best buy. i just found out that costco lets you return anything if it breaks even a long time after you buy it so if you buy one there you won't have to buy an extended warranty. if you don't like it you can return it with no restocking fee.
