It was a bill to impress the people. They passed a bill without any budget. This is the same congress that promised tax reductions & no increase in taxes. They said they would get rid of waste including "supposed" military spending waste & then proposed a blank check bill. Where was this blank check for the last 3 years when the Democrats have tried to cripple the military? Are they for or against the war?

The Republicans opposed a bill that just confused the bills already passed. Don't forget that the President can veto any of their dumb bills. It is law after he signs - not before.

Not really. Maybe they are jus turning their backs on Bush. Maybe they are trying to get his attention. Besides, I just read where the house passed it. Where are you getting your news?

Anti-terror legislation sailed through the House on Tuesday, the first in a string of measures designed to fulfill campaign promises made by Democrats last fall.

Conservatives here certainly aren't going to like being on the other end of the rhetoric they were spewing these last few years.

I on the other hand, think it's gonna be funny as hell.
