YES!!! I did this and it worked. I took a teaspoon of it (the stuff that is okay for kids to take) 3 days before I was supposed to ovulate and 1 day after just to make sure. And yes I conceived.
To all the people saying your crazy, they have never tried to get pregnant, or else they would know about this already!! Good Luck!

Don't use Robitussin CF (or DM or any 'tussin with additional letters). They may actually DRY OUT your cm rather than increase it. What you want is the plan Robitussin. It will say guafinesin syrup in smaller letters under the brand name.
Robitussin and Muciniex are useful in ttc only if you have poor quality cm. Both can turn scant, sticky cm into slippery, fertile cm. I used it when I was ttc, and it made a big difference. I didn't like taking it, however. Not only did it liquefy my cm, it also worked on my lungs and sinuses, giving me a cough and a runny nose. It tastes awful, and gave me a stomach ache, too. I second the previous post about using Mucinex tablets instead, or (my personal preference) use Pre-seed.
If you want to use Robitussin, take the adult dosage 3 times daily starting 3 days before you ovulate and stopping once ovulation occurs. It's important to be familiar with your cycle, and be able to pinpoint ovulation pretty precisely. Good luck, and just ignore mean responses.

Robitussin for Fertility - Use Guaifenesin Tablets Instead
If you're trying to conceive, you've probably seen Robitussin cough syrup recommended to enhace fertility. Here's why you shouldn't use Robitussin -- take Guaifenesin tablets instead to get the same benefit.
Why is Robitussin suggested as a fertility aid?
It contains Guaifenesin.
Some kinds of Robitussin, and many other cough syrups and cold remedies, contain the active ingredient guaifenesin. It's an expectorant, which helps loosen the mucus in the lungs by making it more watery, so it's easier to cough it up.
Guaifenesin improves cervical mucus.
Guaifenesin has the same effect on the cervical mucus found in the vagina, as it does on the mucus in the lungs. Normally, cervical mucus (CM) naturally becomes slippery and watery near ovulation, and sperm can swim right through it on their journey to the egg. But if your cervical mucus doesn't thin out around ovulation, and instead stays thick and sticky, it can be a barrier that entangles sperm and prevents them from reaching the egg. Guaifenesin can help by making cervical mucus more watery.
Why Robitussin isn't the best source of Guaifenesin for fertility.
If you're TTC, Robitussin doesn't have your name on it. May NOT even contain Guaifenesin.
Many Robitussin cough syrups don't contain guaifenesin at all. You'll have to stand in the drug store peering at the ingredients on a bewildering array of Robitussin products to find the ones that do. (You'll find Robitussin CF, Robitussin DM, and a bunch of other letters, but there's no Robitussin TTC!)
Contains additional active ingredients.
Even if you find a Robitussin cough syrups with guaifenesin, you'll find it's combined with additional active ingredients, which may reduce the effectiveness of guaifenesin in thinning cervical mucus, and could even have adverse effects on fertility.
Dextromethorphan is a common ingredient found in cough syrups. This ingredient may be linked with birth defects and should be avoided when trying to conceive.
More expensive than tablets.
Guaifenesin in Robitussin costs about 10 times more than an equal amount in tablet form -- about $2.50 per day compared to $0.25 to $0.45 worth of tablets.
You've tasted the stuff, right?
Guaifenesin tablets are now available over the counter.
Previously, a prescription was required to get Guaifenesin in tablet form, but now it's available over the counter. Safer because there's a single ingredient, cheaper, and no icky aftertaste!

I am confused as to why in the world you would think robitussin may help you concieve? I think this is one of the silliest things I've heard on this subject in a while. By the way like the other chic try some alcohol worked for me 5 times! Good luck!!

Taking clomid can cause the fertile cm to "dry up". Some recommend taking the Robitussin to create more ewcm when ovulating so sperm will have a better chance. Good luck and baby dust!

My cousin swears up and down that everytime she has gotten pregnant that she was taking cough syrup. ( She is a mother of 3) She warns us all that if we take cough syrup to be extra protective unless we are ready for a baby. It's just too much of a coincidence that she has gotten pregnant while taking it all 3 times. Good luck to you, best wishes, and hope it works out for you!!:)

What I have read on the subject, you take according to directions on bottle for no more than 4 days. It thins mucus hence thins crvical mucus which can help get sperm to egg. There is some medical advice that backs it up. Also this should be done 2or 3 days prior to ovulation & the day of ovulation.

take it orally, the regular one without the additives (not DM, CF, etc), the expectorant reduces the mucus that blocks the cervix. It has worked for some people.

Never heard that about Robitussin....
Try cranberry pills, or cranberry juice.
