This was for my wisdom teeth removal on friday, along with ibuprofen and tylenol #3. Although, I didn't know about the oxycodone until a few minutes ago. I found the empty bottle in my mothers room, with my name on it, dated on the same day as my extraction, and had contained 24 pills. I already know that my mother is an addict to other things, but I wouldnt expect she'd take MY prescriptions when I needed them the most. I've been going through hell these past few days as I have dry socket, and she didn't say ANYTHING. someone please help me before i snap

Addicts will do this. Your mother needs help.
We do not let anyone in our home anymore after a gal stole my sons seizure pills. Having someone in the family stealing from you is even worse!!
To get a drug like this refilled is going to be hard and make you look like the guilty person.

You have a choice, turn your mother in for stealing your drugs which is a big deal. Your mother will be removed from the home and put in rehab or jail, or both.
Or let it go. It will not help yelling or getting angry at your mother for she is a addict. They will do anything for there drugs.
Have you thought she may have sold them? Or has them in her possession? When she is out I would search her....

Good luck! Sorry this is happening to you.

Your mother has a major problem, and you know this already. If your mother's addiction is to drugs, then she could use any drug that she can find.

Don't expect her to say anything to you. The lying can very much be a part of her problem. But she needs to admit her problem and to start getting help for it. This might be the time for the family to organize an intervention for her. Your family doctor is probably aware of your mother's problem, so you could talk to him/her about your particular problem and about the idea of an intervention. Also, if you have anything that can be locked, use it to hold your prescriptions. Your family doctor will also be able to help get your mother into a rehab program.

Also, for yourself, see if there's an NA (Narcotics Anonymous) group in your area, and if they also have a program similar to AA's Al Anon. If not, go to Al Anon meetings either by yourself or with the rest of your family. It will help you in the long run.

I'm a nurse. I would inform the doctor what happened to your medication for some more. There are some doctors that will replace the medication on your behave. The OTC medications won't help you much at all. Hang in there, things will get better just you wait and see. Try to think happy thoughts. Confront her about it? Call the police department and report them stolen. Believe it or not, you can do that. My husbands grandmother has to deal with pill thief's running in and out her house all the time.

If you know where it is in your mother's room, go in and take it without telling her. I bet she won't say anything about it because, afterall, it is YOURS.
