You are so right. My neighbors lived in the apartment below me. They partied all night and basically didn't care about anyone else in the building. I considered them the motivation to get my own house.

this is why I always get the upstairs apartment.

right now I'm on the third floor.
the stairs are a ***** when I'm hauling groceries, but it's worth it not to have people stomping over my head.

I feel badly for the people that live below me.
I have two girls (age 10 and 13) and they can make an awful racket at times (falling on the floor, dropping things). I don't know how many times a day I say "people live below us!" Believe me, I am mindful of how much noise we must be making and I try to minimize it whenever possible.

If I were you, I'd move to the top floor.
I could never live on the bottom. That would drive me nuts too.

I have neighbours like that right now. Their living room is right above my bedroom and they work nights. They come home right when I'm trying to sleep. I've been sleeping on the sofa a lot, but I have to admit that I have banged on the ceiling a few times. I've also complained to the landlord on several occasions. They're putting in carpeting. The neighbours are angry, because they really like the hardwood floors. Oh well... serves'em right for not considering that other people have to get up in the morning.

Good luck to you. Bang on the ceiling if you like, but I can tell you that it usually just starts a war.

I had a similar concern couple of years in the past. I initially instructed them couple of circumstances with regard to the noise. I invited them on the home to witness the noise themselves. that did no longer cease them. I complained to the owner and there replaced into no action. I then contacted the city place of work and discovered with regard to the city policies. i found out that there can't be noise after 9:00 p.m. I called the law enforcement officials and had law enforcement officials warned them the 1st couple of circumstances. Even after the law enforcement officials warnings, the noise did no longer cease. Then I had law enforcement officials write up a criticism. The choose fined them over $500 and warned them that the positive might repeat for each criticism interior the destiny. choose additionally wrote as much as a word to confiscate the kit if there is one greater criticism. i did no longer had a concern after that alongside with apology as properly. i've got faith in case you do no longer enable them to appreciate, you're in-area agreeing to be a area of the concern. attempt to be civil and have non-accusatory tone.

No, my worst neighbor lived downstairs He was always screaming and banging on the ceiling whenever we made noise e.g. walking on the floor with my hiking boots on. It was like living in the attic of a lunatics house. Somebodys got to move, the question is will it be them or you.

When I lived in Iowa, I had noisy neighbors, that lived up stairs.
I Recorded the Whole shebang one evening, and played it back early the next morning as I went to work. I played it extra loud after I got home, and I always made sure to play it loud at every party.
They got the point, get a quieter bed and whisper the dirty foreplay talk.

Does the word "Apartment Manager" mean anything to you? I have a next door neighbor and he can be annoying too. Just talk to the management and they might talk to him in an objective manner leaving you out of it. For all they know, it could be the next door neighbor complaining. Most of the people that do this are immature teens and 20 somethings in their first apartment and they mistake it for the dorms.
