It's a chemical reaction basically. when you have an orgasm it causes the release of oxytocin in women and prolactin in men along with other hormones. Oxytocin is also the cause of that lovey dovey feeling we women have after sex. It also causes the "let down of milk" in women during breastfeeding. When I was a breastfeeding mom, and about to climax during sex with my husband, my breast would leak like crazy (bit personal, but showing the correlation). Oxytocin when breastfeeding also gives a relaxed and sleepy feeling to the mom.

Yes, considering you just expended massive amounts of energy, unless you were just lying there. Most people usually use lots of energy during sex, and do alot of physical exertion though. Besides, its alot more fun if you're moving around alot.
