if everyone gave up religion and just based there lives on being good and moral.

It is not the nature of mankind. Only divine intervention into our affairs could bring peace to our world on a global scale. If you have any confidence in Biblical prophecy, it is suggested that the time of that intervention will be when life would cease without it.

Man since the beginning of recorded history has been involved in a war or conflict of some type. Therefore, although it would be wonderful, I don't see world peace in our lifetimes or in those of our children or their children's children. Who knows if earth will even be inhabitable by then.

I don't think we will ever have world peace. It's just not human nature.
