bugger all, hardly anywhere will accept american money in the UK, although most americans think there currency is ubiquitous, you need to get it changed up into pounds, you could probably get just over 50p if you only have only one dollar, buy yourself a nice packet of biscuits from nettos and treat yourself!! Have fun in england

The exchange rate as of today is $1.94 = £1.00

Question for Nemo Credete; why should UK retailers accept American dollars? Could I go into a department store in New York and pay for my purchases in pounds sterling or Chinese yuan?

The dollar is very weak right now, I think the current exchange rate is only $1.94 to the pound.

My son is in London the easy way for me to calculate the money is times two.
