[Cellular Respiration]
Excess glucose in your blood is stored in your liver as glycogen.
How do your body "know" when to convert glucose to glycogen and glycogen back to glucose???

OH YEAH...One part, i SORT OF know is that cellular respiration occurs in your body, producing more ATP, etc.
is that also correct?

THANKS!

The quick answer is that Glycogen Synthase and Glycogen Phosphorylase are reciprocally regulated, by allosteric effectors and by phosphorylation.

The knock-down drag-out is here: www.rpi.edu/dept/bcbp/molbiochem/MBWeb/mb1/part2/9-glycogen.ppt
