The Jews of Elephantine around that time is a great study. Woman actually had the right to divorce their husbands! A good resource book would be, Bezalel Porten, "Archives From Elephantine", (Los Angeles, University Of California Press, 1968)

What are you specifically looking for?
-Jewish traditions in the time of the Achaemenid occupation?
-Jewish tradition from before that period?
-Does your search and study only wish to focus on the region of the Levent, or are you interested in other regions as well, such as Jewish populations in Egypt and in Babylonia?
-Are you interested in Jewish law related to women or only practical application of the law to the social situation of the time?

I suggest that your first place to begin your research, seriously, be the Torah. It is more than just a religious text and certainly is the basis for much of the study of the Ancient Jews.

I wish you luck on your research.

Check out "the Jews of Iran" by Habib Levy and Encyclopedia Judaica.
