Are you logging in as a user? Try to save all your important data onto CDs or DVDs or an external hard drive. If you are logging in as an administrator, then you will be able to access anything on the computer, regardless of his password. Try booting in Safe Mode, the computer is off, turn on the computer and hold down the F8 key until you get a menu. Select Safe Mode and continue starting up. If it asks you for a password try pressing Enter. Eventually, you should reinstall the factory software. That will get rid of any and all viruses and malware, and sometimes it is faster than trying to remove the malware with anti-malware programs.

Go to the Start Menu, go to the Control Panel, then go to Add/ Remove Programs. Find Windows XP Home Edition in the list they give you and click Change/Remove. I don't think that you have to be an administrator to do this. If you do though, see if when you entered your password you put a password hint. (Most systems require you to.) If you did, this will help you figure out your password. If not, try unplugging your computer or restarting it and this might reset your password. Hope this helps!

If you still have the disks to Windows XP Home Edition, just reinstall it. The best way to do this is to save all of your important files to a disk, then crash the system (in accessories). After it's crashed pop in the reinstall disks, redownload, and then reload all your files. If that doesn't work, go to a specialist or contact microsoft.

miss angle, I am here to help you........if you want to uninstall winxp this must mean you don't have anything important on your system your worried about. if this is the case, just put your win cd in and reboot your system, it will ask you if you want to delete the current install, answer yes and reinstall, thats all. if you have a virus on your system it will not be there after install because you are not booting to your hard drive but from the cdrom.

There are ways of getting in, like a locksmith program, but you should consult a professional.
