why is my monitor showing shadowing?

is it due to power?

Shadowing??
Magnetic sources, old age burn-in.

If your "shadowing" is a particular color... red, green or blue, it might be that the convergence is off (CRT only). I couldn't guess what might be the problem if you have an LCD.
