I think most of the movies adapted from his books are ruinded by the endings. What he writes just doesn't come through on screen.
Personally I think the ending of IT with the big spider thing was so stupid, that movie is way creepy until that bit.
What do you think?

Unfortunately, the "big spider thing" was how King described IT in the book. Most of his books don't translate to movies very well, but the endings are close to what he writes. I think the worst were in "The Stand" and "The Green Mile" since I didn't care for how he ended the books. He's still my favorite, though.

I hate clowns so I only got as far as the book which was scary enough. Storm of the Century and Rose Madder were both pathetic but I was really disappointed with The Dark Half. I think somebody else already hit the nail on the head already when they said he's books are not translated well to the big or small screen.

"It" ...no question in my mind, the worst movie adaptation of a Stephen King book ending EVER. That giant spider thing was just the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I mean, honestly, what the hell were they thinking??

I liked IT the spider was how he wrote it, it stayed close to the book. Worst endings had to be Thinner and Pet Semetary.

For me it was either Children of the Corn or Pet Sematary, both films were scary for me...then the end came and it ruined the whole movie (both of them)
