July 1981, we watched on television. She really did look lovely and when she got Charles`name mixed up with his fathers` when taking the vow, our hearts went out to her, she was so nervous and so young. A great deal of `hype` was made over the dress prior to the big day, especially as she chose cream instead of the traditional white.When she stepped out of the carriage, we could see how magnificent it was; but horror of horror !! No one had thought about it getting creased,(crushed up as it was in the narrow carriage) It took some minutes to shake out the creases and re-arrange the folds and pleats and straighten the very long train, then off she went..
