Indeed. They get called all sorts. Are there really professional virur writers though? Some virus writers I would imagine do it for a hobby. Those that do it for fraudulent purposes could, I suppose, be classed as professionals if they were good at it.

They are called all sort of names and, largely for a good and obvious reason.

PS: Yes, there are (a handful of) professional virus writers. Nontheless they are honest people; because they attack their employer's systems... for research on infection-mechanisms. But these viruses can never escape: the network they attack is never connected to the Internet - not even physically.

You mean to say they can be 'professionals'. Getting paid to wreak havoc in cyber space! I would call them PWCPTSTBU (People Who Could Put Their Skills To Better Use)

They are deliberately created by programmers, or by people who use virus creation software.
