Why is Rosie O'Donnell still on the View?

Rosie O'Donnell is obnoxious and rude and vulgar. She does not belong on the View. Let her get her own show. She is degrading the VIEW.

I think it is because she has brought in the highest ratings EVER for the show. but I agree with you, I can't stand her and am disgusted she is on the show. I won't watch it because of her - she is annoying and not as classy as the other women. Hopefully it will be short lived and she won't be around next season....

I think that networks know better than to give her her own show. But, she's still on The View because she's controversial. Just when you think she can't say or do anything more repulsive, she does! That brings ratings to the show. A lot of people will watch the show, just to see what she's gonna do next, then comment about it. I can't tell you how many times I've seen questions on here pertaining to something she did or said. The people who ask these questions are probably just as repulsed by her as you are, if not more! It's like the movie "Clerks 2", when Randall throws Dante a going away party at Mooby World, and the entertainment is Kinky Kelly and the Sexy Stud. Turns out Kinky Kelly and the Sexy Stud was a sick man who liked to have sex with donkeys! When Rosario Dawson's character walked into the building and saw what was going on, she said that she was disgusted, but that she couldn't look away! That's Rosie O'Donnell in a nutshell!

Sadly the View's rating have skyrocketed since she joined. Even I started watching after she joined, but she quickly turned my short lived excitement into disgust. She really annoys the crap out of me.

I would bet she doesn't last more than 6 months. Her ego is too BIG to deal with sharing the limelight with others. She'll use the View's success to re-launch herself into daytime t.v. with her own show where she doesn't have to ever shut up or listen to anyone else speak but her. Why you ask? Well, unfortunately, network exec's pray to the ratings gods and as annoying as she is - she brings in the ratings for some inexplicable reason.

Oddly the only person more annoying than Rosie O'Donnel was Star Jones.

Well I can see by the rest of your answers that I stand alone on saying that Rosie O'Donnell is one of my favorite celebs, she doesnt care what others thank and stands up for others whom has no voice. I think she is a great addition to the view and I am not suprised by the overwhelming rise in the ratings for the view.

i've got not watched The View in awhile and that i ignored it at the instant. yet i actually like Rosie O'Donnell. i think of she's hilarious and actual eye-catching. The View mandatory Meredith Viera regardless of the incontrovertible fact that; that replaced into painfully obtrusive as quickly as she left. yet a minimum of superstar Jones is long previous!!!!

I agree with you, too but Barbara is keeping her around because the View has spiked in ratings since Rosie joined the bandwagon. I mean, Barbara did bring her out of retirement but I guess soon enough she'll be off the View like Trump said and Barbara will deny why.

Highest ratings, yeah right. Her show got thrown off the air before. I think because "The View" is desperate. I think my dog could do a better job then Rosie could on "The View".

she's probably still there cause she won't quit and they won't get rid of her and have to pay... she may have brought the rating up when she first got there but I'm thinking it's going to change direction. I've barely watched since she's been on - can't stand the way she talks to "viewers" as if each and every one of them were dumb as tacks and can't figure out a single thing to save their own lives. I gave up on the View and I'm sure there are many others ... like lonewolf said wait to see what's next !!!

The View pisses me off. Its a bunch of old, hypocritical, annoying women who argue with each other. Its my least favorite show, ever!!!

But I do think Rosie O'Donnel made it worse, if that was even possible. I'm on Trump's side - she is a fat slob.

Because, above all else, the networks worship the RATINGS... the obnoxious loudmouth has people watching to see what dumbass thing is going to come out of her mouth next.

Barbara Walters has had a great career, and to see it finalize with this trash is just pathetic. She should have sold her soul to the Devil and she'd have more dignity.
