The Fureys - The Green Fields of France (also called Willie McBride)

This song is a beautiful, haunting Irish folk song originally written by Eric Bogle reflecting on the grave of a young (19 year old) man who died in World War I. It refers in the chorus to two famous war songs, "The Last Post" and "The Flowers of the Forest". Very poignant lyrics about the pointlessness of war and mans indifference to man. I you do one thing today, PLEASE download this song and listen to it, find the lyrics on the internet and read it as the song plays. I started crying about 1 minute into the song, lol
