Bank is another way of saying rota basis. Hospitals have there own 'agency' of staff who are available on a rota basis - when a job becomes available they will offer it to the next person on the list. And when the job comes to an end the person doing it will go back to the bottom of the list. That way everyone gets to do some work.

Ask the employer.

"Bankers hours" is more a rolling joke in the industry referring to late start with an early close for a half round of golf.

More seriously, it is likely to be 9-5 or 8-5 Monday to Friday. That is, no flex hours. But, questions aren't bad things; especially when you are job hunting. Ask.

It means that the job has so-called "bankers hours". Think about how your bank's hours are. They probably are closed on the weekends, all the holidays, and close very early. This is what they mean when they refer to hours being like "banker's hours". Another way to look at ithis is by saying that bankers have great hours that everyone wants.

dont forget also that other than the 9-5 hours, you get to take off all stat days off, and some special days. Banks close on all days governments do. so you get a couple of xtra days off during the year
