If someone on Yahoo! Answers copied an answer of yours and used it to answer another question, how would you feel?

If someone copied your answer from a similar question, and when you submitted your answer you saw someone answered it with your own words & sources 45 seconds before you submitted yours, how would you feel?

If the answer that copied yours included website sources that you had spent considerable time collecting and verifying to back up any statements you make, would it make a difference?

If the first person to answer a question changed their answer to mirror yours exactly and make it look that you were the one copying them, how would you feel?

In a way I am flattered that someone liked one of my answers enough to copy it, but I am also offended that they used my words and my sources to answer another question that they were unable to come up with any original answer to; now I see my own answer (given by someone else as their own) compared to my own answer actually given by me.

Flattery is one thing, someone using your words as their own is another.

Mostly offended. I have, in my time, looked at other people's answers and incorporated some of their information into my answer, but I always paraphrase (never just copy 'n' paste), and I always add something new to the answer (otherwise why do it, if the same thing is already there?). To be quite honest, though, I actually think that I'd be less offended if the copied question was full of sources and all that, because the person copying might believe it to be one of those 'pre-done' answers, something lifted from a website, and not realize it to be one of your own works. Yes, you know that you slaved over it, but they might not (even though they should think about it first).

I might feel a little flattered, but not really. Give credit where credit is due, you know? All the person has to say is "Someone else had a really great answer, and here it is:" or "This isn't mine.". Then I'd feel better about it, at least.

Now, if someone passed my copied question off as their own and made me look like I was the one copying, there's no doubt about it- I'd be peeved as heck.

Mostly, feel offended.

Fetishes are definitely offensive because the people with the fetish see those people as objects, basically. Being attracted to a group of people is one thing but having a fetish for them is another. How can they get to know the person for who they are if they are only sexually attracted to WHAT they are? Luckily I've never been with a guy with a fetish so I'm not speaking from experience.

Amazing. I'd be pissed. I save versions of my own answers to cut and paste in the "repeat questions". I would never copy some one else's work. I that against the rules? Report them. I follow your answers... Your friendly picture is welcoming because your answers are always thoughtful and from the heart, not to mention informative! I'm sorry this happend to you! I think it's amazing that you found the copy-answers and then put it all together in this question too!

Wow, what a meanie. I think I'd be offended. Plagiarism isn't nice and shows no respect for the author.

If people like my answers, they're free to say "just like Revolution said..." or give me a thumbs-up if they're Level 2+.

Well you seem like a very intelligent person so I might be flattered that someone thought of me that way but I'd still be PO'd that they took your answer

On one hand bewildered and on the other hand very flattered that somehow I had touched someone and made a difference.

I would be flattered, I guess.
But why do you waste time and energies with this?
This is Yahoo Answers, not College.
