the scariest movie i saw was "salem's lot" the original movie. in the beginning of the movie, the little boy who went walking in the woods alone and got bitten looked just like my son and they were about the same age.... i just couldn't get over it after i saw the movie that i made sure my son slept in my room until i was able to get over my anxiety.....

The Original "Black Christmas" is GOOD. It is dated be todays standards, but there are still some genuinely scary scenes. "The Hills Have Eyes" the original and the remake are quite good, though neither should be watched if you are squeemish when it comes to children or pets...
The only "based on a true story" aspect to Texas Chainsaw massacre is that it is l o o s e l y based on Ed Gein... As is Psycho and Silence of the Lambs and any other movie with cannibal serial killers who also use the skin to make female suits...

I can't believe noone said "Seven" with Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. That movie was very well done, and to me, quite scary.
Strangeland was excellent. Dee Snider is perfect in that movie. Kinda makes you think twice about the internet, and chatting. Definately a movie that everyone needs to see.
Hmmmm. A Clockwork Orange is a classic too. The Shining was creepy as hell too.

The original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". The movie is based on a true story and is eerie beyond words. That fact that it's a true story brings it to life.

Strangeland
It's an older one with Dee Snider from Twisted Sister.
It's freaky as hell and involves alot of involuntary piercings...

i think of it replaced into with the aid of Aphex twin - it had all this black liquid oozing out of partitions and stuff. there replaced into an fairly alarming 2d while a mum serving dinner to her teenagers unexpectedly puked this fountain of black slime everywhere. There are different Aphex twin video clips that are somewhat stupid, yet this one replaced into relatively alarming. If it wasn't with the aid of Aphex twin (who i do unlike) then apologies to whoever replaced into to blame.
