like why are they fighting and stuff?

Ireland at one point in time was way ahead of England in technology and society, when they found out that england was broken up into smaller kingdoms, they say it was easy pickings to invade and raid now and then and get what ever they needed

It's just an early version of Romeo and Juliet. Aida is a later version. Old, old story. Good theatre.
