okay so it sounds a bit sick but why not clone humans with intentionally vegatative brain functions to use for organ harvesting? its a bit distasteful but think of the countless lives that could be saved and/or enhanced... obviously we dont have the technology for this at the moment but it is just around the corner... why not play god? (its not as if he has done anything to help us lately)

Cloning is both good and bad. THe ability to duplicate human cells can wipe out diseases or create enough organs for everyone to get the transplants they need, but when you start cloing whole humans you will have many problems. The first problem is the mistakes that will happen in the inital clones. The second problem is who is entitled to a clone and why? The third problem is what happens when someone tries to create a master race or the perfect soldier etc. etc. etc. The possibilites are endless.

If we play God, He will smite us and he has helped us, alot. like...keeping us alive everyday for instance... or, not condemning us all to the firey pits of hell...

Cloning is bad becuase it will lower the standards of value on human life. Just like abortion has.

You should watch "The Island" it gives a few reasons cloning is bad, and it hasn't been proven that we can produce clones in vegatative states with fully functioning organs.

Cloning and genetic engeneering go hand and hand, and genetic engineering just brings up genetic discremation. What would happen if you couldn't get life insurance becuase your genes say you could get cancer in a few years?

also, People might be refused rights becuase of some defect in their genes. It just comes down to the question, "where do you draw the line between what is human and what isn't?" (we've seen this before...I think the guy's name was Hitler.)

Cloning just isn't a good idea, true some results of it may be positive, but its not worth it. Its a better idea to just eat less junk food and get off your fat butt and exercise everynow and then, you know?

Eeeeeeeeew!
Why not keep the brain dead alive while you harvest all their organs?
It has been said that the Chinese used Tibetan political prisoners for harvesting extra eyes and kidneys, etc.
Who decides who is the original and who is the clone? What if the clone could be a lot stronger, smarter than the original?
There are just a lot of questions yet to ask. And it is good that you are asking them.

Well you just told us why it is a bad thing. Most humans should not be in the god business. Just look at how well the Born Again Christians play god by telling us what to do. They could clone people without a need for sex, abortions, or fun and be totally devoted to god. Wouldn't that make a better world, you think?

If we clone human beings, they will of course be human being and we are obligated, even mandated by our conscious that separates us from the animals, to treat them as human beings. Deliberately destroying their brains so that we can harvest them is horrific and wrong.

It seems to me we are a technologically advanced culture. But not socially advanced. Hence your question, is why we must be patient and hope we can grow faster socially. Or we might end up doing some stupid things with the technology we have.

We do nothing but play God all the time. And God hasn't made any kind of protest. Presumably, he is a trusting parent!
