No, I have never celebrated Egg Day in the past. I have heard it has something to do with the equinox. I will try it tonight with my stepson. I think he'll get a kick out of it.

AH-HA! Is THAT the story-behind-the "standing egg"-history?
My own Grandmother is turning 100 y.o. this year and she is stil as "spit-fire" as she can get!.........ON JAN 10 (How is THAT for a coincidence)?!?!?
My father (Oma's son) has a story about standing eggs.... from his young childhood that he shares with us.
