I want to do cosplay at the next anime convention near me. I have till June to get ready and step one is deciding who I want to protray. Since I'm african american I would like to pick a darker skin lead, but the only person I can think of is (sp) Enti from Revolutionary Girl Utena. I don't really want to be her. Can anyone think of other characters that fit what I'm looking for. If so please list their name, and the show/movie/book. Thanks a bundle!

Only black female anime character I can think of was one of the fighters from one of the Street Fighter games. Otherwise, there's not a lot of black characters (male or female) in Japanese anime. American comics would be easier. Is that close enough?
This is going to be a tough one...
And now I need to ask a question about what cosplay REALLY involves....
