And 5x+2y=26?????

Pick an odd value for y and solve for x:

e.g. y = 1 gives 2x - 3 = -1
and so x = 1.

That means on your graph you plot a point across 1 from the origin and then up 1 from there.

y = 3 gives 2x - 9 = -1
and so 2x = 8 whence x = 4.
So you plot a point across 4 and then up 3 from there.

Draw a straight line through the two points you have plotted.

Then do something similar for 5x + 2y = 26. I suggest putting in even values for x and solving for y, e.g. you might get (2,8) or (4,3)

The first one is messy. Rearranging to y = mx +b form will give you a y-intercept of 1/3. Your best bet for this one is probably a table of values.

2x - 3y = -1
2x + 1 = 3y
(2/3)x + (1/3) = y

Slope is 2/3 and b = 1/3

The second one is better. 2y = -5x + 26

y = (-5/2)x + 13

Slope is -5/2 and b = 13. Start at 13 on the y axis, place a point there and then go down 5 and right 2 and place another point there, continue this pattern and then connect the dots!

you first gotta solve it to (y)

you send the 2x to the other side where the -1 is and it becomes negative. so now your gonna try and remove the 3 from the y so the y could stand alone and in order to input in the calculator

-3y/-3=-2x/3-3/3

y=-2/3x-1/3

y=-5/2x+13 or y=-5/2x+26/2

hopefully you understand.

from the y is alone now. it should look something like this

you can try rearranging the equation to get y=some stuff

2x-3y=-1
-3y=-2x-1
y=2x/3+1/3
5x+2y=26
2y=-5x+26
y=-5x/2+13
