This just fuels my arguement that Phil is a garbadge coach who's fortunate enough to get a bunch of talent. He benched Kobe the whole 4th quarter when they were down by 20 and still didn't bring him back when they cut it to 11 with 5+ minutes. Jackson makes me sick from his exploitation book to failing to bring a 4th ring when they still had Shaq to his unproductive/confidence hurting criticism of Kobe. He should have won 50+ last season and let Kobe score in the playoffs. The Suns weren't even that good and Jackson's game plan was retarded. And why doesn't he run a different offense? How many turn around jumpers has Kobe shot this season? None! The Lakers blow and so does Jackson!

The game against the Griz was the first of a back-to-back. They play Houston on Wednesday. Since the game was out of reach, Jackson benched his starters to save them for the next game, a common ting for coaches to do, which is one reason why George Karl was so heavily criticized for having his starters on the court the night of the Knicks-Nuggets fight.

Phil Jackson is known for running the triangle offense. It's that offense that won the Bulls 6 championships and the Lakers 3 with Phil as head coach. 9 championships more than demonstrates how good a coach he is, and saying the Suns weren't that good shows just how little you know about basketball. Good grief, did you watch the playoffs last season? Did you actually comprehend what you were watching? If you had, you would have understood the Lakers game plan and seen just why having Kobe score wouldn't, and didn't, work.

I guess the rest of the Lakers think they can waltz through Grizzlies because they have NBA-worst record and also because they have won against the Mavs.

Phil Jackson's benching was a wake-up call to the players especially the starters that they must bring their A-Game each and every night. Just look at the starters stat sheet aside from Kobe.

O yeah, I think Jackson isn't a garbage. He showed these youngster why you're not supposed to be over your head in this league.

good question.
did Kobe do something to get benched?IE:throw a hissy fit? was he injured?did you do your homework on Phil? I think not and i say that because as my memory serves me correctly Mr. Jackson did take some teams to the (and won 6 times)big game. yet Kobe really has not done for basketball what some of the others(including Phil) grates have done. he has not put the WHOLE team on his back and been a team player. oh sure he has tried but the no ring thing shows me(and others)he is incapable of "stepping up" his game like all other greats have done.

maybe the problem lies else where then the coach
then again I'm not the coach(nor are you)and yet it is easy for me to second guess my coaches choices

Phil Jackson = 9 rings yea he sucks!!! Thats the most boneheaded statement ever. Kobe sucks he would not have been any help. Hell most guy's in the NBA could score like he does if they took 50 shots a game!!!

Many Reasons:
Down by more than 20
Not such an important game
They have a game tomorrow
Spare a possible injury from happening to Kobe
Moments like this give the bench players more confidence.
I could go on!! Its all common sense why Kobe wasn't played in the 4th

i saw that one too, we were down by 11 points, i was wondering too why he did that and there was time left to catch up and leave them behind, but i guessed its because the team messed up in the 3rd quarter and since the team is dependent on kobe to bring them back, he decided to bench him and see how they would do, he must have been fueled up too to make that kind of a decision plus tomorrow lakers have a game and well if they werent going to win tonight why not preserve the pro for tomorrow? i didnt like that decision though

no, it truly is no longer about giving them somewhat taking section in time to keep them satisfied... it truly is the NBA and those are grown adult men. the objective is to provide the starters somewhat more effective relax going into the subsequent quarter and keep the starters/well-known human being gamers from choosing up a cheap foul accurate in the previous the end of the quarter or 0.5.
