1) Paint a box flat black on the inside.
2) Put a thermometer in it.
3) Cover it with clear plastic (like a plastic tarp or saran rap).
4) Place it in the sun on a clear day (preferably a cold day to make your point).

The thermometer could get well over 110 or 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Solar panel refers to a panel designed to absorb the sun's rays as a source of energy for generating electricity or heating. Photons in sunlight hit the solar panel and are absorbed by semiconducting materials, such as silicon. Electrons (negatively charged) are knocked loose from their atoms, allowing them to flow through the material to produce electricity. The complementary positive charges that are also created (like bubbles) are called holes and flow in the direction opposite of the electrons in a silicon solar panel. An array of solar panels converts solar energy into a usable amount of direct current (DC) electricity.

Its called the "photovoltaic effect". Light (photons) hit a surface (the panel) and knock an electron out of orbit around an atom.
Electrons near a reverse-biased junction are repelled by it.

maybe you should do some searches on google and yahoo instead of waiting for other people to do it for you.
