You probably could if your doctor suggests it. BUT, I hope that you have worked long enough to deserve disability. I know too many people who have barely worked a hard day in their life and think that they should get disability. There are so many people who are just a complete drain on society.

Try seeking treatment for your health condition first and healing. Maybe seeking a job that you do not have to walk much. Then after all that fails maybe disability is an option.

I'd really suggest you consider hip replacement surgery if the arthritis has gone that far. You really ought to see an orthopedist to see what can be done to relieve the pain.
