I have yet to take music (voice lessons). But I was wondering if I could guess my range...like an estimate.

c3,c6...etc?

how do you know... can you cite an example?

I wish that I had the possibility of a range like christina aguilera/mariah carey/whitney houston sometimes...even though I don't always like that kind of music because its soo commercial. Whats second best to that (c,d..what?)

if i were to guess your vocal range, you would probably classify as a soprano. C6 is the 3rd highest C on the music (paricularly piano/vocal) scale of 8 octaves. C3, i believe, based on my experience with choir and piano lessons, is referred to as "Middle C." and who says you can't possibly have a christina aguilera/mariah carey/whitney houston-style range? with practice and vocal training, you CAN have that type of a vocal range. with what you gave me as a vocal-range estimate, you're already on your way there.

That's not really something that can be answered over the internet. Your range depends on many factors, including: sex, genes, medical history, and whether or not you smoke. Your best bet would be to go a local music teacher and have them listen to you. They would be able to evaluate you and tell you what your range is... Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
