it doesn't last but a year

Of course there is! 11year olds are thought of more as kids, since they are just out of the kiddie age.
A 14 year old is thought of as much more mature or adult.
You may not 'feel' too different, but enjoy it. You will soon enough.

You can start looking up things that you can expect to happen in the next few years so you can handle them better.
Your body may have started to change, or will soon. Your hormones will change, meaning you will have great days and maybe sad days; all are normal.

Enjoy every day if you are a healthy happy young person. Look for the good in your life.

If you harp on why isn't anything different, rather than what's good in your life, then you'll miss out.
Don't compare the past. It's gone.
This is today.

Good luck you teenager, you!

your a year older! one more year closer to getting to drive a car, date (if you don't already) and other things like that. 14 is special in the way it will bring it's own year of memories, so savor every day and make the most of it. I wish i was 14, so worry free compared to 19. some tips: DON'T HAVE SEX, don't do drugs or smoke and keep good company. Life is just beginning for you and this year is an eye opener. Don't be like all those other retards on here that are 14-15 and have a baby, or no brain cells. Be smart and make the best of life!!!!

I'm an old lady, but when I look back...14 was a good year. You'll probably be starting high-school where everything is new and exciting. Got to wear make-up. Had my first real job. People actually took me more seriously. Had my first boyfriend...had a lot of fun and seriously changed a lot from the time I was 13!

15 was even better

Have fun!

The cool thing about being 14, is that you aren't 13 anymore and your whole life is still in front of you. At 14, most kids are, well, not really kids anymore. At 14, you have a pretty good idea of what your parents expect out of you and are either delivering it or trying to, if you are smart. At 14, you aren't a "baby" anymore and you usually have some freedoms you didn't have at 11 or 12. You also are usually more trusted to do things on your own. If you have demonstarted you are trustworthy, truthful and honest, you should be experiencing extra trust and faith from your paretns, which means they are probably taking your word that you are going to the mall with friends and will be back by 9:30 or 10. Of course, if you haven't done that to this point, your life very well could be a living hell till you are like 18-20. In any case, most 14 year olds know the difference between right and wrong, are capable of applying good sense (most of the time) to pretty amazing situations, given they have a backbone and aren't afraid to use it. Also, being 14 brings more changes in the body, better muscles, better hinneys, and better chests. Your strength is growing, your personality blooming and you are making friends which may carry you for life, or at least through the next bewildering 2-6 years in which you get a drivers licence, go to dances, proms, High School, games and many many b-day parties, graduate middle school, and starting HS. At 14, you most likely have begun to not only notice boys and girls as different, but actually to appreciate some of those differences and even like them very much. At 14, you aren't usually wondering what to do with the opposite sex, but waiting for your opportunity to experience your first kiss, your first real date and getting a few crushes while you wait for your turn in the sun. Don't be in too big a hurry my dear, to run through these years. You will only understand how precious they really are, when you get much, much older and look back on them. Try and make good memories filled with good times, a few adventures, and many many good solid reliable friends that will be worth sending Christmas cards to and pictures of your kids and sharing the other halves of your lives. Its all good to have good things to remember fondly, when your body starts to fade in its beauty, its strength and its health. These will be the good times you refer to, when your daughter walks out the door to her first prom, when your wife falls ill, or your husband loses a job. These memories will be the ones that sustain you through the hard times, so make them good, make them full, and most of all, make sure they aren't filled with TOO many mistakes or regrets. Thats not to say they should be perfect, they won't be, but have some good friend adventures wound through all this. Believe me, the fun comes in the retelling of your old war stories when your youth is well spent. Good luck!

Well, you're one step closer to getting your license (depending on the state). You only have 4 more years until you're 18...you can go to strip clubs then. And only 7 years until you're 21. After that not much else matters...25 so you can rent a car, no big deal though.
