My assign is to write a newspaper article about a character in the book, or an issue in the book that has affected the characters. I can do an editorial, a obituary, feature story, etc. Please help me with coming up with a topic to write about in relation to the story! Thanks!

This may be off the wall, but you could write a weather report, considering how much the weather affected almost every aspect of their lives. Or, you could write some want-ads...scabs to work during the strike, jobs for women and/or for men, on the farms, in the garages, with the livestock, in the supply stores, at the bank...as their lives were greatly affected by their ability to make a living. Or you could do a health column on the different diseases that killed so many of the people in those days, and the "cures" they tried.
Your assignment sounds like fun!! Good luck!

You could write an editorial from the point of view of a farmer. You could explain what is happening to you, when and how your farm was taken away, and what you have to do for survival. Just a suggestion. But, I also got a 79 on my GoW test.

You could write a Obituary from Rose of Sharon's for her baby. It could be about how he will never see the sun in California and never play in the ocean. Just a little of her wishes and the hope that one day she will see him in heaven.
