Unfortunatley yes to the first question. More importantly America blew the moral capital we received from the world after the 9-11-2001 attacks. Most of the world was on our side then; not now.
The surplus generated by Clinton however, was a lot of smoke and mirrors. They used every monetary policy shell game in the book to cook that one up. Sort of like saying that you are going to buy 1000 things for 1000 dollars each and sell them for 2000 dollars each over the next year and then end the year a millionaire. It is possible but unlikely for the average person.

Would you show me that massive surplus in this chart ? The information came directly from the Congressional Financial Abstract..... I keep hearing about it from Liberals and the media, but can't seem to find it. The real truth is it's a bald faced lie.
Year National Debt
1987 $2,350,276,000,000 (read that 2.35 Trillion)
1995 $4,937,982,000,000 (read that 4.94 Trillion, or over doubled in 8 years)
2003 $6,789,437,000,000 (read that 6.79 Trillion, a 14 percent increase in the next 8 years)

do you realize that bush had a DUI in 1976? I remember the 2004 campaign Kerry was criticized for his job in Vietnam and here we have bush driving under the influence. guess what Cheney has two duo's so between the two of them they have 3 total. I do think it is time to start the impeachment process. has anyone checked the deficit? it is getting closer and closer to 9 trillion dollars every breath you take. when it comes to all time worse presidents Nixon you have been replaced by George W Bush
