it all depends on the color.are you sure it was a owl,owls are nocturnal and are rarly seen in the daytime.a white owl is of the best luck.

owls are often associated with evil and sourcery (as nocturnal beings). On the other hand, they are also associated with wisdom. So, I would say it could be an omen of wise misfortune.
