If she is actually in danger at the hands of this man, then point her in the direction of the nearest women's shelter and encourage her to accept help.
If you are 'involved' with her I encourage you to walk away. Women often will portray their husbands as abusive or near to it to a lover for the attention and to keep him tied to her.

You can't. You can only accept things as they are and be there for her when she needs a friend. Be patient with her. This is a lesson she has to learn for herself, and it could take a long time because she doesn't want to admit she might have made a mistake. If you try to reason with her or talk badly about her husband, she will be upset with you and will vow to herself more sincerely than ever that she will find a way to work it out with him, and she might distance herself from you. Let nature take it's course instead and just be there for her as a friend (JUST a friend, no ulterior motive) when she needs a friend.

Well, I am in a marriage and my husband treats my terribly. I am in the process of "figuring out" my exit. I have a guy friend who knows the situation and states the obvious about my relationship but always says "leave for yourself, not for anyone else." If you have feelings for this girl, let her know, but also let her know that the decision has to be for her own happiness, not for a future relationship. I do wish my guy friend would let me know how he feels about me...but I also know I am leaving my horrible marriage because of me, not him.

if she has kids
you can't
even if they do not have kids you can't
in a sesne she has lost her self esteem
so any change other from what she knows is scary for her
there is a sense of security she knows from her maligned life with her current husband and that's why she stays
it's the male fools who think they can win a womne like that over and offer he a better life are they same ones who have self esteem issue and thus go for weak women rather than testing the water with real opinionanted and independant women where they find them selve sorely lacking in many departments

Why dont you offer to let her come live with you, to escape her Monster of a Husband. She'll probably take you more seriously. And think her knight and shining armor came to rescue her. What a lucky woman!!! I wish i had that.Sorry to the pessimists here , But why Don't you go 4 it. Or you will always wonder, What if???........

You can not get anyone to do anything that you want them to do. It is totally the choice of the individual. Bad situations does not necessarily change the out come of a person's decision either. Sadly some people have to learn the hard way.

You need to give her a lot of support and build up her self esteem. Women who are treated crappy by spouses generally feel like they are nothing and no one else will ever love them.

Respect the marriage, and walk away.
This has to be her own deal, really. All you can do is listen to her, and let her figure it out on her own or it will never work. I know you care about her and it's hard to watch, but you shouldn't interfere.

Just always be there for her and try and get her to realize that she doesnt need him, and that he'll never change. But most importantly if you want something to change no one will do it for you. Even if you arent going to be together she needs to know shes not alone, and that she can do it.
