500 dollars is a lot for a phone, and A LOT for a 4 GB mp3 player, Apple product or not. It's just something that everyone thought would be a good idea, but never considered the cost for.

No mac products suck and are way too overpriced. The only thing good about them is they look "shiny" and nice.
