He might have some kind of intestinal blockage. I would recommend a visit to the doctors.

He is probably constipated from all of the bad eating that he did over the holidays. 9 or 10 days is a long time not to have a b.m. and it has to be very uncomfortable. He either needs an enema or 2 or 3. If that doesn't work then he should go to the doctor.

He needs to see a doctor. He may have an intestinal blockage, which can be fatal in the worst cases. He may also have some sort of bowel problem that is impairing the ability of the body to move things along properly.

Has he been eating? That's another issue - if he's not eating the number of bowel movements can decrease significantly.

Severe constipation or a possible obstruction. I hope that your dad takes care of the problem soon. Every day that goes by will only make the problem worse.

Could be some kind of digestive problem. Colon polyps, blockage, poor diet... the list goes on. He should go to a doctor because backup of toxins can be very fatal.

One of the worst cases is that he could go into septic shock and die. Get him to a hospital.

Edit: If he hasn't pooped in 9 days, then taking medication or prune juice to try to get him to poop isn't going to work. An enema might, but he really needs to see a doctor to get proper treatment.

He should go and get checked by a doctor right away. There was a lady in my town who didnt poop for a long time and she ended up dieing because of the toxin build up. Take him to a doctor as soon as possible.

Not enough water, fruit, fiber, exercise, or there's something wrong with his GI tract. That's a long time to go without going. He should go to the doctor, even if the problems goes away.

Possibly constipation. Probably needs to re-hydrate himself. Gatorade is a big help. May need to see a doc.
