I have a good friend who's sister has a two year old named Jackson. I hardly ever see the sister or the kid so would it be ok to use the same name? And what do you think of Jackson Wayne?

I think that is a beautiful name! and it is perfectly ok to name your baby the same name. My son's name is Daniel and my husbands best friend's sister had a son 2 years earlier (same situation as yours) named Danniel. They have only met once and nobody had any problems with them having the same name. they laughed at how we had spelled them different (I hated her spelling of it) and that was it. It is perfectly ok for you to choose that name if you'd like. Especially since you don't see them often.

I think its alright, if you like the name go for it. They don't own the name. The only way I would be hurt is if I had a name picked out and you had your baby first and used it before I got the chance, but don't worry about what others think. Jackson is a very popular name, and Jackson Wayne goes well together. Good Luck with the new baby.

I don't see any problem with this situation. It isn't like it is your good friends child, it is her nephew. It shouldn't be a big deal at all, especially with the name Jackson. It is a very trendy name which is becoming very popular. She can't possibly think you stole it from her.

I love the name Jackson and I think that Jackson Wayne flows well.

If you dont know the sister that well than its ok . Whenever I was pregnant with my son I was having a hard time picking a name and my sister in law was three months further than I was and when I finally picked out the name Dalton, she decided she liked that name and when her son was born she named him Dalton I was furious. Yes Jackson Wayne is a good name

I don't see a problem with it. With all the Jennifers, Michaels, etc. someone had to have friends with the same name.

Jackson is different and someone said that you would be stealing it. Why not look at it as a compliment that you liked it so much you also named your son the same name. Now if you named your son that before hers was born would be a totally different story.

Jackson Wayne is a nice name. Enjoy it and don't feel guilty.

I think it's a really cute name, and I don't see why it would be a problem since you hardly ever see her. Just make sure that the last names aren't the same. I have a son named Noah Brown and a girl I grew up with named her son Noah 2 years later and his last name is Brown too. Arrrgggg!!! We both live in a REALLY small town and these kids will be in high school at the same time.
Go for it!!!! It's YOUR son and you know what to name him!!!

Why not be original? There are so many other names out there. Maybe pick a name no one else you know has, then have Jackson be the middle name?

I don't like "Wayne" as a middle name, unless you're using it b/c you have a Wayne in your family.

Sure, in fact if I were here I would take it as a compliment. You could even change the spelling of Jackson to Jaxon.

I'm not crazy about the name Wayne though.

Jaxon William
Jaxon Walker
Jaxon Ward
Jaxon Warner

Good luck!

I see no reason why you couldn't name your baby Jackson. Especially since you rarely see her. We named one of our sons after his great-grandfather, and a cousin also used the name. Other relatives have used it for a middle name as well. Nobody really cares. We also have good friends who had a son the year after ours, and they gave him the same name as our son. We just called them big Ben and little Ben. Not a big deal! Good luck.

I think it's fine. We had 4 Alex's in the family at one time, not named after each other, just beacuse the name was liked. Jackson is very old fashioned, so it's not like your friend can say she thought of it first!!!!!

Go for it! It's a popular name. If it had been like "Blade" or "River", that would be different. Plus, it's not your friend's baby's name, just someone you know.

I love Jackson Wayne. Good name.
