Probably not, since it's strictly cosmetic and most private insurance companies no longer cover it--public aid usually follows their lead. To be absolutely certain, you'd have to contact Medicaid itself or a doctor who both performs circumcisions and works with Medicaid.

It all depends on the doctor, Medicaid Doctors will cover it but it has to be a regular Dr. that also takes medicaid. If it is a Dr. that only take medicaid like clinic Dr they don't look into it, having it does is much healthier for the child but not necessary. Later in life it is better for them to have it done from a medical stand point. Some docs see it as unnecessary so you should call.

Most likely no...I live in California and it does not pay for it here, because it is not a medically necessary procedure.
I just had my baby a little over 2 weeks ago and I am on MediCal (like medicaid) and they will not pay for it. It will be about $200 since I don't have insurance to cover it.
Good luck!

HaHa. I lived in Virginia for 6 years and I honestly couldn't tell you. But during my 3rd pregnancy I moved back home to Louisiana and they stopped it here. Something along the lines of, "It's not medically necessary!", so needless to say I didn't have $400 to cough up last minute for my son to have a circumcision. They told me that $400 was the price in house, but after we left the hospital it would be close to $3,000. I figured that I'd let him make that decision. By the time he gets to the point where he can, I should have that kind of money.

Your best bet is to give the medicaid office a call.

I'm not sure if they still pay for it, but you should really put a lot of thought and research into this decision, instead of blindly following "tradition". I encourage you to really read into this.
