You cannot get it on any other network. It is a completely locked phone. The way it is created, even if you could unlock it most of the software would not work with another network. Apple is very good with their DRM (Digital Rights Management), just look at the iPod. And they have already said they have a multi-year exclusive contract with Cingular. So it is definite that you cannot get it from any other network.

No I think they will be in partnership with Cingular...
the 4g phone will cost about $399, the 8g will cost about $499,
this is what I heard thru other email at work today-AT&T..

no t-mobile doesnt have any contracts w/ apple
only cingular does
so you will have to change to cingular to get the iphone to work for you

not sure, as i'm sure apple and cingular will lock the phone well, but probably if unlocked, but all other major carriers in the US are sol as they aren't gsm
